[잡포스트] 김민수 기자 = 인천직업전문학교가 국내외 뷰티 전문단체와 손잡고 K-뷰티 분야 전문인재 육성부터 취업·창업까지 연결하는 교육 협력체계를 구축한다.

인천직업전문학교(이사장 유선)는 27일 오후 교내 회의실에서 사단법인 한국헤어디자인협회(KHDA·이사장 최기수), 아시아뷰티아트전문가협회(ABEA·대표이사·비서장 서영신)와 K-뷰티 전문인력 양성을 위한 3자 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다고 밝혔다.

이번 협약의 핵심은 각 기관이 보유한 교육 및 산업 네트워크를 연결해 학생들의 진로 선택 폭을 넓히는 데 있다. 인천직업전문학교의 직업교육 및 자격취득 과정에 KHDA의 현장 숙련기술과 국제대회 운영 경험, ABEA의 해외 뷰티 전문가 네트워크를 접목하는 방식이다.

특히 자격증 취득에서 교육을 마무리하는 기존 방식에서 벗어나 현장실습과 전문가 멘토링, 국제대회 출전, 취업처 연계와 예비창업 지원까지 이어지는 단계별 인재 육성 체계를 마련한다는 계획이다.

인천직업전문학교는 이미 국제대회를 학생들의 실전교육 과정으로 활용해 왔다. 2024년부터 올해까지 3년 연속 KHDA 국제뷰티산업콘테스트 분산대회 개최 및 참가를 이어왔으며, 인천지역 청소년과 학생들이 대회에 출전해 대상과 우수선수 등을 배출했다.

교육 현장에서는 김수영 헤어담임 지도교사가 전문교육과 대회 출전을 지도하고, 최지영 기술지도교사가 작품 완성도와 기술 숙련도, 실제 경기 대응 능력을 높이는 실전교육을 맡고 있다.

유선 인천직업전문학교 이사장은 "직업교육은 학생들이 전문기술과 자격을 취득하는 데서 끝나는 것이 아니라 배운 기술을 자신의 직업으로 연결해 성장하도록 하는 데 의미가 있다"며 "학교와 산업현장, 숙련기술인 및 국내외 전문가를 연결해 취업과 창업으로 이어지는 교육환경을 구축하겠다"고 말했다.

김명섭 부학장도 졸업 이후의 진로 지원을 협약의 주요 과제로 제시했다. 학교는 KHDA와 ABEA의 전문가 네트워크를 활용해 현장실습과 멘토링을 확대하고 취업 연계와 예비창업 지원 프로그램을 구체화할 계획이다.

김 부학장은 "자격증 취득은 사회 진출의 출발점"이라며 "학생들이 자신의 기술을 활용해 취업하거나 창업하고 산업현장에 안정적으로 정착할 수 있도록 실질적인 지원 체계를 강화하겠다"고 설명했다.

KHDA는 학교 교육을 마친 학생들이 실제 뷰티산업 현장에서 요구되는 기술 수준을 갖출 수 있도록 숙련기술교육과 전문가 멘토링, 국제대회 참가 등을 지원한다.

KHDA가 주최하는 '2026 KHDA 국제뷰티산업콘테스트 & 국제뷰티아트컬렉션'은 지난 6월 10일부터 오는 9월 20일까지 진행된다. 헤어디자인과 네일아트, 메이크업 등 K-뷰티 분야를 중심으로 이순녀 국제대회 심사장과 전문 심사위원단이 심사를 맡고 있으며, 진영희 경기운영위원장이 선수관리와 경기 운영을 총괄하고 있다.

최기수 KHDA 이사장은 "자격 취득 이후에는 고객과 산업현장에서 요구하는 숙련기술과 실무능력을 갖추는 과정이 중요하다"며 "학교 교육과 현장교육, 국제대회를 연결해 학생들이 취업과 창업 현장에서 경쟁력을 갖춘 전문기술인으로 성장할 수 있도록 지원하겠다"고 밝혔다.

글로벌 분야는 ABEA가 담당한다. 2015년 서울에서 설립된 ABEA는 아시아 뷰티산업의 전문인력 양성과 국가 간 기술·인적 교류를 추진해 온 단체다.

협회 창립자 린키(LINKEY)는 중국과 캐나다, 싱가포르, 홍콩, 대만 등을 중심으로 뷰티 전문인력 양성과 기술교류 활동을 추진해 왔다. 서영신 대표이사 역시 한국을 기반으로 일본과 인도, 미국 등 해외 뷰티 전문가들과의 교류 네트워크 확대에 참여해 왔다.

서영신 ABEA 대표이사(비서장)는 "인천직업전문학교의 학생교육, KHDA의 숙련기술과 ABEA의 글로벌 네트워크를 연결한다는 데 이번 협약의 의미가 있다"며 "국내외 전문가 교류와 전문교육을 확대해 학생들이 보다 넓은 산업현장에서 활동할 수 있도록 협력하겠다"고 말했다.

이번 협약은 세 기관이 각각의 전문 분야를 담당하는 역할분담형 구조로 추진된다. 인천직업전문학교가 직업교육과 자격취득, 진로 및 취·창업 지원을 맡고 KHDA가 현장 숙련기술교육과 국제대회, 전문가 멘토링을 지원한다. ABEA는 해외 전문가 네트워크를 활용한 국제교류와 뷰티아트 분야의 전문교육을 담당한다.

뷰티업계 관계자는 "K-뷰티 산업이 확대되면서 자격증 자체보다 현장에서 바로 활용할 수 있는 실무능력과 전문성이 중요해지고 있다"며 "교육기관의 직업교육과 현장 전문가의 숙련기술, 해외 네트워크가 실제 취업과 창업으로 연결되는지가 이번 협력의 핵심이 될 것"이라고 말했다.

세 기관은 이번 협약을 시작으로 공동교육과 인적·기술 교류를 확대하고, 학생들의 직업역량 강화와 졸업생 일자리 창출, 취업·창업 지원을 위한 구체적인 협력 프로그램을 추진할 계획이다.

On the afternoon of the 27th, Incheon Vocational College (Chairman Yoo Seon) held a signing ceremony on campus. The college signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Hair Design Association (KHDA, Chairman Choi Kisu) and the Asia BeautyArt Experts Association (ABEA, CEO & SecretaryGeneral Seo Youngsin) to foster professional KBeauty manpower. The core objective of this agreement is to connect educational and industrial networks held by each institution to broaden students’ career options. The framework integrates Incheon Vocational College’s vocational education and qualification programmes with KHDA’s handson industry expertise and international competition operational experience, as well as ABEA’s overseas beautyexpert network.

Moving beyond the traditional model where education ends with obtaining certifications, the parties plan to build a phased talentdevelopment system covering onsite internships, expert mentoring, internationalcompetition participation, job placement and prestartup support.

Incheon Vocational College has long used international contests as practical training for its students. From 2024 to the present, the college has hosted and taken part in regional rounds of the KHDA International Beauty Industry Contest for three consecutive years. Youth and student participants from Incheon have won grand prizes and outstandingperformer awards.

At the education site, lead hairdesign instructor Kim Sooyoung oversees professional training and contest preparation. Technical instructor Choi Jiyoung delivers handson training to refine work quality, technical proficiency and realworld competition readiness.

Yoo Seon, Chairman of Incheon Vocational College, stated: “Vocational education is not merely about helping students master technical skills and earn certifications. Its true purpose is to help students turn learned skills into sustainable careers. We will connect the college, industry practitioners, skilled technicians and domesticoverseas specialists to build an educational ecosystem that facilitates employment and entrepreneurship.”

VicePresident Kim Myungseop identified postgraduation career support as a key deliverable of the MOU. Leveraging KHDA and ABEA’s expert networks, the college intends to expand onsite internships and mentoring, and refine jobplacement and prestartup support programmes.

“Certification is only the starting point for entering society,” VicePresident Kim commented. “We will strengthen practical support systems so students can secure jobs or launch businesses using their skills and settle stably within the beauty industry.”

KHDA will support graduates to master the practical competencies required by the beauty industry through skillbuilding training, expert mentoring and opportunities to join international competitions.

Hosted by KHDA, the 2026 KHDA International Beauty Industry Contest & International BeautyArt Collection runs from June 10 to September 20. Centered on KBeauty fields including hair design, nail art and makeup, the event’s judging panel is led by international contest chief judge Lee Soonnyeo. Competition Operations Chair Jin Younghee oversees contestant management and overall event operations.

Choi Kisu, Chairman of KHDA, remarked: “After obtaining qualifications, it is critical to master the handson skills demanded by clients and industry workplaces. By linking schoolbased education, onsite training and international contests, we will help students grow into competitive technical professionals ready for employment and business launch.”

ABEA takes charge of globalrelated initiatives. Founded in Seoul in 2015, ABEA promotes the training of Asian beautyindustry professionals and crossborder technical and personnel exchanges.

Association founder Linkey Lin has carried out talentdevelopment and technicalexchange activities focusing on China, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan and other regions. CEO Seo Youngsin, based in South Korea, has contributed to expanding collaborative networks with beauty specialists across Japan, India, the United States and beyond.

“The significance of this MOU lies in combining Incheon Vocational College’s student education, KHDA’s practical knowhow and ABEA’s global network,” said Seo Youngsin, ABEA CEO & SecretaryGeneral. “We will expand exchanges among domestic and international specialists and advance professional education to enable students to operate across broader industry landscapes.”

Building on this MOU, the three organizations plan to expand joint education, personnel and technical exchanges, and roll out concrete collaborative programmes to enhance students’ professional capabilities, create graduate job opportunities and deliver employment and startup assistance.
